The “Haze Buster“ Solution
Replace your traditional blade holder (illustration A) with a holder that is engineered to make the initial blade-to-cylinder contact at 60°+ (illustration B). Even when the new holder is set precisely in the same position as the traditional holder, one can overcome the pre-existing physical restrictions imposed by the existing print deck.
The advantages of the holder in Illustration B over the one in illustraton A are an increase of 32° (+76%) in the blade-to-cylinder set angle and an increase in the air gap of 1.326 (+52%). These gains result in a dramatic reduction in blade pressure, the occurance of blade-end edge breakage, spitting, blade wear, cylinder wear, mid run press stops and most of all, haze.
